LUMI Satsuma 2026 lights up Oasis Care Yoshino Park in Kagoshima from Saturday, November 7, 2026 to Monday, January 11, 2027. It does not run every night. The official calendar lists weekends, public holidays and the year-end and New Year period. Hours are 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with last entry at 8:30 p.m. Early-bird tickets cost less if you buy by Friday, November 6, 2026 (Japan time). This guide sets out the prices, the open dates and how to buy, so you can catch the cheaper ticket before the park opens.
DOJI is an independent travel publication. We have no business relationship with LUMI Satsuma, Oasis Care Yoshino Park or any ticket seller, and this guide is not endorsed by them. Everything below comes from LUMI Satsuma's official site, FAQ and access page, checked on November 5, 2026 (Eastern time). Times are Japan time (JST) unless we say otherwise. Japan is 14 hours ahead of Eastern time in winter. Prices and details can change, so check the official pages again before you buy.
The short version
- When: November 7, 2026 to January 11, 2027, on listed open days only — mainly weekends, holidays and the year-end and New Year stretch. Not every night.
- Hours: 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Last entry 8:30 p.m. Light rain usually goes ahead; typhoons or heavy rain can cancel a night.
- Early-bird (buy by November 6): general ¥1,300, high-school and university ¥1,000, elementary and junior-high ¥300. Preschoolers free.
- Regular (from November 7): general ¥1,500, high-school and university ¥1,300, elementary and junior-high ¥500. Preschoolers free.
- No date lock: a ticket is not tied to a single night. You can use it on any open day in the season.
- Where to buy: LINE digital tickets, Rakuten Travel e-tickets, Nishimura stores (except franchise and Naze), the park office (8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.), or machines at the gate.
Open dates on the official calendar
From the official home page calendar (Japan time). Confirm again before you travel; the organisers can cancel for weather.
- November 2026: 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, 22, 23, 28, 29
- December 2026: 5, 6, 12, 13, 19, 20, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30
- January 2027: 1, 2, 3, 9, 10, 11
Opening night, November 7, has a planned lighting ceremony from 6:15 to 6:45 p.m. on the special stage, with a countdown around 6:35 p.m., according to the organisers' Instagram post on the official site.
What you will see
The 2026 theme is winter sakura (冬桜). The cherry avenue at Oasis Care Yoshino Park is lit in sakura-pink for the season. The official site also lists returning zones such as a "snow road" of lasers and light snow effects, a water-mirror plaza, a cloud path, a "sotetsu nebula" light-and-sound area, a "birth of stars" slope and a wind-hill of hologram pinwheels. A Sakurajima collaboration returns: lasers from Sakurajima School can be steered from a control panel at the park's observation deck so light reaches the venue from the volcano side.
Food trucks, a mini stage, a paid glowing bounce area, a free light play zone, glowing rickshaws, a stamp rally and a light-up craft workshop are also listed. Treat food-truck menus and show times as changeable, and check the site or Instagram on the day.
Ticket prices
From the official Tickets table on the home page:
| Type | Early-bird (by Nov 6) | Regular (from Nov 7) |
|---|---|---|
| General | ¥1,300 | ¥1,500 |
| High-school / university | ¥1,000 | ¥1,300 |
| Elementary / junior-high | ¥300 | ¥500 |
| Preschool | Free | Free |
The FAQ says early-bird means tickets bought by November 6, 2026, and regular means tickets bought from November 7 onward. The pages we checked do not state an exact cutoff hour on November 6. If you need the early-bird price, buy on November 6 Japan time or earlier, and do not wait until the last minute Eastern-time evening. November 6 in Japan ends at 10:00 a.m. Eastern the same calendar day — but again, the organisers have not published a minute-by-minute cutoff.
Same-day purchase is allowed online or at the gate machines. Age or student ID can be checked at entry for discounted tickets. Elementary-school children may not enter alone; an adult 18 or older must accompany them. Preschoolers do not need a paid ticket.
Buying and rules
- LINE digital tickets: the official account is the main online channel. Listed payment methods are credit cards, carrier billing and PayPay.
- Rakuten Travel: e-tickets are also sold there.
- Cash paper tickets: Nishimura service counters (franchise stores and the Naze store excluded), the Oasis Care Yoshino Park office from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and ticket machines at the LUMI Satsuma entrance.
- No re-entry once you leave, unless you buy again.
- No changes, cancellations or refunds after purchase, except when the organisers cancel the event under their rules.
- Lost digital or paper tickets are not reissued.
- The FAQ recommends saving a screenshot or printout of the QR code in case mobile signal is weak at the gate.
Overseas visitors: we could not confirm whether a non-Japanese phone number can register for the LINE checkout, or whether cards issued outside Japan always clear on LINE or Rakuten Travel. Have a backup plan (a companion with a Japanese LINE account, or cash at the gate / Nishimura) before you rely on early-bird online.
Getting there
Venue: Oasis Care Yoshino Park (Kagoshima Prefectural Yoshino Park), 7955 Yoshino-cho, Kagoshima City.
Nangoku Kotsu route buses run from Kagoshima-Chuo Station and Tenmonkan toward Yoshino Park. Timetables differ by weekday, Saturday and Sunday/holiday, and some year-end days use special patterns. Paid special return buses from Yoshino Park are listed at 7:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., with extra route returns at 8:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. from December 24 to January 3. By car, the park is about 15 minutes from National Route 10; the organisers ask visitors to prefer the bus when the lot is busy. Full stop-by-stop times are on the official access and bus pages.
A full circuit of the lights is about 45 minutes; with photos and food, plan 1 to 1.5 hours. The FAQ suggests arriving between 6:00 and 7:00 p.m.
What we could not confirm
- Exact early-bird cutoff time on November 6 (date only, no hour on the pages we checked).
- Overseas LINE signup and non-Japanese card payment on LINE or Rakuten Travel.
- English checkout — we did not complete a purchase.
- Parking fees and capacity on busy nights.
- Food-truck menus and stage times for each open day (they change).
